The connections

Focusing on the tangled connections that make up this fence, has definitely provided a new angle to ‘see’. I catagorize these small yet unique reinforced structures, based on my interpretation to the similarities and differences. In some cases, the bondage of one to the other could conversely be the dissociation of the latter from the former. Such contradictories are common in the relationship between these connected parts and they become a trigger for me to review the relationship between things. ‘The fence’ that formed by parts becomes a looser whole, which also gets me to resee the relationship between objects and me.

A NOTICE: This is the original version of publication that I made with 3 different parts. Based on this week’s course feedback, as ‘#1’ and ’#2‘ seems a bit disconnected to my main method of illustration, these contents have been cut out. (You can still view the pdf by go to this link, but they are not going to be presented in this page.) The final outcome of this practice is going to be mainly focusing on ‘#3 The connections’ which is shown below.

As to further develop this method of investigation, I plan to do the following: 1. Add more details/texture on the illustration. 2. Do some experiments to see if these connections could be translated into physical materials. 3. Explore the ways of binding.
